How the 2022 compares with nearby years
Against the 2021 Escape: The low-beam bulb, high-beam bulb, oil filter and cabin air filter are the same in both manuals.
The H9 low-beam bulb appears in every Escape manual from 2020 to 2022 that this site has read (3 model years).
The 2022 Escape belongs to the 4th gen, which began with the 2020 model year (MY2023 refresh: updated grille and headlights, optional light bar); generation dates. Parts often carry over within a generation, but the manual for your exact model year is the one to trust.
Shared with other 2022 models
- Battery 48: 5 other 2022 models in this site's data print the same, including Ford Bronco Sport, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Ford Maverick, Ford Transit.
- Battery 99R: 1 other 2022 model in this site's data print the same, including Ford Maverick.
- Oil viscosity 5W20: 2 other 2022 models in this site's data print the same, including Ford Transit, Kia Forte.
- H9 (base headlamp low beam): 3 other 2022 models list it, including Nissan Kicks, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Tacoma.
- HB3 (base headlamp high beam): 6 other 2022 models list it, including Honda HR-V, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Forte, Kia Soul, Kia Telluride, Nissan Altima.
- H8 (base fog lamp): 3 other 2022 models list it, including Ford Transit, Honda HR-V, Nissan Frontier.
- W5W (rear side marker): 21 other 2022 models list it, including Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Ford Maverick, Ford Transit, Hyundai Palisade, Hyundai Santa Fe.
A shared number means the same replacement part fits both cars, so one spare can cover two cars in the household.
What the manual does not print
This manual prints all five part types this site tracks, which is unusual: most makers leave out at least one.
6 positions are listed as LED in this manual. LED lamps have no separate replacement bulb; the lamp assembly is replaced.
Buying the parts for a 2022 Escape
- Wipers: Ford lists blades by part number (WW-2502, WW-2051, WW-1112) rather than length; a parts counter can look the number up, or measure the old blade.
- Headlight bulbs: the H9 low beam and the HB3 high beam are halogen capsules on trims that have them; buy them in pairs so both sides match in colour and output.
- Small bulbs: this manual names 4 replaceable bulb positions. Wedge bulbs such as W5W and 194 differ from twist-socket bulbs such as 7443 or 3157, so match the full number, including suffixes like NA (amber).
- Battery: the manual prints BAGM-48H6-760, which is BCI group 48. Match the cold cranking amps on the old label or higher, and keep the terminals on the same sides.
- Filters: the part numbers above are the maker's own brands; aftermarket boxes list cross-references to them, so quote the number (oil filter FL-910-S) when you shop.
- Oil: 5W-20 WSS-M2C960-A1, 5.3 US quarts with the filter. Use the grade printed for your engine if the manual lists more than one.

Trim, engine and lighting package change some of these parts, so match the row that names your engine or trim. The facts on this page come from 4 pages of the manual (348, 393, 394, 395). Before you buy, compare the number printed on the old part with the table above. See how this site reads manuals.
