How a manual is read

  1. The manual PDF (or the maker's web edition) is downloaded once and converted to text with page breaks kept, so every fact keeps its PDF page number.
  2. The pages that hold parts facts are located by their headings and content: parts tables, bulb charts, battery and capacity specifications, wiper sections.
  3. Each printed value is copied with its page number: wiper lengths in the unit printed, bulb numbers as printed (suffixes such as NA or LL kept), battery codes, filter part numbers and oil grade and capacity. Values that are not printed are recorded as not printed. Nothing is filled in from parts catalogs, retailer lookups or general knowledge.
  4. Where a two-column page makes the pairing of a label and value unclear, the row carries a note saying so.

Checking

After extraction, an automated check looked for every copied value (bulb numbers, wiper lengths, filter and wiper part numbers, battery codes) on the PDF page it cites. On 2026-10-20, 2645 of 2655 values were found on their cited page. The 10 not matched literally are two codes joined into one value (for example LN2 / LN3) or a suffix printed on the next line; each was checked by hand. Values from web manuals (Mazda, Kia, Tesla) are copied from the cited web page and were not part of the automated page check.

Kia web manuals added 2026-10-21

Kia publishes its US owner's manuals as web pages, one topic per page. For each model year the manual's contents page was opened to find its "Bulb wattage" page, and that page's table was copied row by row (position, Type A/B trim variant, bulb number as printed, wattage as printed; interior lamps left out). Kia's web manuals do not print the model name, only a platform code in the address (DL3, KA4, SK3, SG2 and so on), so each new code was matched to its model by the manual's own Dimensions page (for example, the KA4 manual prints a 5,155 mm, 7/8-seat body with sliding doors: the Carnival). Each bulb row links the Kia page it was copied from. The raw rows are kept with the site's research files.

These tables were read through a web reader rather than downloaded in bulk, so they are not part of the automated page check above. Where a table's layout left a row's label unclear, the label is copied as printed (the 2023–2024 Telluride lists its PY21W under "Back up lamp (LED type only)") rather than corrected. Kia prints some numbers in its own style (21/5W rather than P21/5W, W5W LL); those are shown as printed and are not merged into another bulb page.

Photos

Car photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences (CC0, public domain, CC BY or CC BY-SA), resized and hosted here, with the photographer and licence under each picture. A model-year page shows a photo only when it is of that generation; otherwise it shows a drawing. The drawings, charts and numbers are this site's own.

What is not covered yet

Stellantis (Ram, Jeep) and Subaru manuals could not be read automatically from the makers' sites, so those models are not on the site yet. Some 2023–2026 Ford and Hyundai years, and a few short-print Toyota manuals, are also missing. Model years are added as their manuals are read. Looked for and left out so far:

This site is not affiliated with any automaker. Model names belong to their owners.
