How the 2018 compares with nearby years
Against the 2016 Transit: The low-beam bulb, high-beam bulb and oil filter are the same in both manuals.
Against the 2019 Transit: The low-beam bulb, high-beam bulb and oil filter are the same in both manuals.
The H11 low-beam bulb appears in every Transit manual from 2015 to 2019 that this site has read (4 model years).
The 2018 Transit belongs to the Full-size Transit (V363), which began with the 2015 model year (MY2020 revision: revised front fascia, 10-speed, AWD option); generation dates. Parts often carry over within a generation, but the manual for your exact model year is the one to trust.
Shared with other 2018 models
- Battery 48: 2 other 2018 models in this site's data print the same, including Ford Escape, Ford F-150.
- Oil viscosity 5W30: 1 other 2018 model in this site's data print the same, including Ford Explorer.
- 168 (front side marker lamp and rear clearance lamp): 3 other 2018 models list it, including Ford Escape, Ford F-150, Toyota Tacoma.
- W5W (front i.d. lamp, side direction indicator, front clearance lamp (exterior mirror) and license plate lamp): 16 other 2018 models list it, including Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Mazda CX-5, Mazda Mazda3, Nissan Altima.
- H11 (headlamp low beam and daytime running lamp): 17 other 2018 models list it, including Ford Escape, Ford F-150, Honda CR-V, Honda Civic, Honda Odyssey, Honda Pilot.
- 9005 (headlamp high beam): 7 other 2018 models list it, including Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Mazda Mazda3, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Highlander.
- 3457 (front direction indicator): 2 other 2018 models list it, including Nissan Kicks, Toyota Sienna.
- 3057 (brake, rear and direction indicator lamp and reversing lamp): no other 2018 model this site has read lists it.
A shared number means the same replacement part fits both cars, so one spare can cover two cars in the household.
What the manual does not print
This manual prints all five part types this site tracks, which is unusual: most makers leave out at least one.
Buying the parts for a 2018 Transit
- Wipers: Ford lists blades by part number (WW-2955, WW-2901, WW-2112) rather than length; a parts counter can look the number up, or measure the old blade.
- Headlight bulbs: the H11 low beam and the 9005 high beam are halogen capsules on trims that have them; buy them in pairs so both sides match in colour and output.
- Small bulbs: this manual names 11 replaceable bulb positions. Wedge bulbs such as W5W and 194 differ from twist-socket bulbs such as 7443 or 3157, so match the full number, including suffixes like NA (amber).
- Battery: the manual prints BAGM-48H6-760, which is BCI group 48. Match the cold cranking amps on the old label or higher, and keep the terminals on the same sides.
- Filters: the part numbers above are the maker's own brands; aftermarket boxes list cross-references to them, so quote the number (oil filter FL-500S) when you shop.
- Oil: 5W-30 WSS-M2C946-B1. Use the grade printed for your engine if the manual lists more than one.

Trim, engine and lighting package change some of these parts, so match the row that names your engine or trim. The facts on this page come from 3 pages of the manual (257, 311, 321). Before you buy, compare the number printed on the old part with the table above. See how this site reads manuals.
